A Woman Wronged Challenges Patriarchy in New Fiction Novel

By: Issuewire

Miami, Dec 12, 2018 (Issuewire.com) - Language teacher and author Derrick Ruth-ven Hardings fiction novel, Injustice Repaid in Full, is an extraordinary account of how a woman discovers her inner strength as she fights to regain her lost dignity. The book puts forth the narrative of a woman willing to do everything to avenge herself of all the wrongs she has been subjected to. Harding hopes to inspire with this tragic but hopeful tale.

Injustice Repaid in Full follows Norma Minerva, dubbed as the most beautiful in the idyllic town of Summerset in Jamaica. On her sixteenth birthday, she falls prey to Roy Browns effortless and suave demeanour. While she was head over heels to the young charmer, little did she know that the love and kindness she has seen in Roy was only a façade of his dark and violent nature. Misfortune slowly unravels in Normas life. She gets pregnant with Roys baby a year after they began their relationship.

Hardings latest offering is part of the current wave of literature that focuses on womens struggles and their journey in reclaiming their voice from the systematic oppression of a patriarchal-influenced society. In light of recent movements of women in Hollywood and the #MeToo campaign, Injustice Repaid in Full is a welcome addition to an already growing list of works about empowered women. Though undoubtedly written from a mans perspective, the book likewise serves as an introspection and interrogation of how lenient society is towards the man.
