Forty Years of Making a Difference: Public Health Technology Company Celebrates 40 Years in Business

From a small start-up in a Chicago suburb, CDP, Inc. has shown amazing growth and longevity, with clients and employees spanning the country.
CHICAGO - Feb. 8, 2019 - PRLog -- Custom Data Processing, Inc. (CDP), which was incorporated on February 8, 1979 in Illinois, is celebrating its fortieth anniversary. In an industry where companies come and go, CDP has a firm grasp of their market and is growing year after year.

The company's founder and president, Jack Marston, Sr., first envisioned an opportunity to provide computer software services to small organizations that were unable to afford large, mainframe computers.

From those beginnings, he recognized a need in the public health community and set the company's mission to provide high-quality public health technology solutions to assist delivery of essential services to state and local communities. This mission paved the way for his small company to develop its first custom software application in 1981. The solution was created for the home healthcare sector, and its success led to creating a second solution for environmental health needs.

In the time that followed, CDP has expanded environmental health and home healthcare to create a portfolio that includes WIC issuance and payment systems, electronic health records, business intelligence and analytics, mobile applications, networking services, top-tier customer support, and specialized training for all products. Technology has evolved over the past 40 years, but the company's dedication to providing high-quality applications and support to the public health community has never wavered.

Beyond expanding the products offered, the company's geographical reach has expanded exponentially. Originating in the Chicago suburb of La Grange, Illinois, they now have a headquarters and backup data center in Romeoville, Illinois with a second office and primary data center located in Frankfort, Kentucky. In addition, remote employees have been added in several other states. The company, which started with just a handful of employees, now employs more than 130 people across 18 states and has clients in more than three dozen states and U.S. territories.

"We create electronic health solutions that make a difference in the world," said Jack Marston, Sr. "I'm proud of how far CDP has come, and I can't wait to see just how far we will go."

The vision for the future looks bright, with a focus on integrating data across public health systems, how to best use that data, and expanding to include new government programs.
