Anti-Violence Conference March 8, 2019

Vancouver, Feb 17, 2019 (Issuewire.com) - The National Womens Coalition Against Violence and Exploitation (NWCAVE), NO MORE Campaign and the Human Trafficking Task Force of Clark County will host the No More National Anti-Violence Summit on March 8, 2019, at the Hilton Vancouver Hotel and Conference Center in Vancouver, Washington. In support of No More Week and International Womens Day, the Summit will be an inspiring, educational and awareness anti-violence conference that will empower communities to take action.

"To end violence in society, the No More Summit is an opportunity to increase collaboration across communities, including law enforcement, governments, the public, social services and media, said Michelle Bart, president and co-founder of NWCAVE. This is our chance to continue to fight for anyone who has experienced any form of violence, said Bart.

The Summit opens with keynote speaker, the first woman Mayor of the City of Vancouver, Anne McEnerny-Ogle, County Councilor Temple Lentz followed by workshops and resources. A  luncheon will honour The Oregonian/OregonLive with the NWCAVE National Journalism Impact Award for its investigative reporting and attendees will hear from a powerful keynote speaker,

Dr Kathie Mathis on Understanding the Mind of a Predator.  The Summit will conclude with a screening of "I am Evidence, an HBO documentary by actress and advocate Mariska Hargitay (Law & Order: SVU) that exposes the number of untested rape kits in the United States through the reveal of survivor stories. The Summit gives us the opportunity to stand together to end domestic violence, sexual assault and other genres of violence through increasing awareness, inspiring action and igniting a change in culture.

Topics will include domestic violence, childhood trauma, missing children investigations, immigration, children prevention programs like PAL and many more.
