Jordan Goodman Redefines Retirement

How to gain financial independence and live life on your terms

NEW YORK, NY, February 27, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Money Answers Show host, Jordan Goodman, invited Todd Tresidder, founder of Financial Mentor, to his weekly podcast to discuss financial independence and how individuals can retire early and focus on living a fulfilling life.

Money Answers Show episode, "Cash Flow and Retirement Planning with Todd Tressider" provides useful information for individuals looking to gain financial independence. This can mean spending the rest of your days on a permanent vacation, or the beginning of an encore career, but it always involves taking control of your own means of income and having the flexibility to enjoy an enriched life.

There are three main ways that an individual can approach financial independence and begin living life on their own terms. They can decrease their spending needs, increase their income, or both. By increasing your earnings without increasing your spending, you'll be able to save greater sums to get you to your retirement goals, and by decreasing your spending needs, you can also save more money and reach your retirement goal faster.

Contrary to popular belief, you can reduce your spending needs in ways that won't negatively impact your quality of life in retirement. "If you're looking at retirement, you can look at different ways of living," said Tresidder. "You can travel around in an RV. Traveling internationally can be less expensive. A lot of things that we assume are givens, that we're stuck with because of the American lifestyle, are just not true. There are ways to work around them."

It's those who are willing to think outside the box who generally attain their goals of retiring early. Those willing to give up temporary comforts in favor of reaching their goals, those willing to take the risks needed to obtain the reward.

"There are things that you can choose differently on," said Tresidder, "and that's one of the things that separates people who attain financial independence at an earlier age – they're very independent thinking. They don't get stuck into traditional thinking and all the consumer spending attitudes that enslave people."
