Pete Laan - Supporting Married at first sight's Nasser Sultan in Instagram verification endeavour

Nasser Sultan

South Australia, Mar 23, 2019 (Issuewire.com) - So what "is" a celebrity or public figure? Go ask the thousands of people chasing social media verification (blue tick) on both Facebook and Instagram they'll tell you how they are one and how they deserve the blue tick for that song they recorded back in year 7 on cassette underneath their bed.

As married at first sight season 5 has been dead and gone for quite some time now, one person who hasn't at all dwindled back into the darkness where they first came from is Nasser Sultan.

I say good on him! I would happily bet my bottom dollar he isn't the only person in Australia who's applied more than twice for the lucrative blue Instagram verification badge, in fact.. I'm betting that there's 1000's.

I find the fact that so many people are hating on him for it and throwing negative comments on his Instagram entirely a hateful joke, in literal terms. But I have to admit that I side with this likeable guy Nass and am in full support. If it were up to me mate you'd be verified long ago! One look at Instagrams checklist for being eligible and receiving verification and it's obvious you have it all covered.

What a lot of people, I'd say 90% of people don't realize is that Instagrams verification badge is in fact quite obtainable, you don't have to be Eminem or Brittany Spears, I've seen numerous accounts with as low as 1200 followers and 20 likes per post with that striking, captivating blue tick.. Graeme Connors, a singer-songwriter from Mackay Qld, for example.

It was obvious to me early on in the peace that Instagram are in fact verifying people with considerable amounts of press releases on considerably well known news websites. A persons followers count, (the average persons perceived sign of fame) has very little in fact to do with it.

So why then is Nasser still not verified? He has 30 times the followers of Graeme and twice the amount of news Press as others, mind you on some well established news websites like news.com.au and has been spoken widely of on "Kyle and Jackie O morning show" radio station which is one of Australia's most loved.

No matter which way you want to look at it, Nasser Sultan "is" now a well and truly active celebrity, or public figure if you will. Even if it's for not being a real celeb by the textbook standards but continuing on anyway with his self-journey to gain fame.

I've spoken with Nass on the phone once, he called to thank me for helping him with a social media query and I've gotta say he's a great guy! Good for a laugh, light-hearted, I agree with him when he said that people need to lighten up and learn to take a joke, the guy means no harm and is very charismatic. Personally, I feel that those who shun him on his Instagram account are only jealous of all the hype and laughter and in reality, live sad and uneventful lives.

Give the man a tick! That's what I say. Even though I'm sure this won't be heard by or cared for by Instagram. He's been aired on a free to air full-length television series, plastered all over the Sydney morning radio and slandered through the city news papers. Sounds like a real celebrity to me? Or maybe I'm just wrong. - Pete Laan
