London, Apr 11, 2019 (Issuewire.com) - Following the change in UK law that took effect from 1 November 2018, two of the country's leading medicinal cannabis campaigners have joined forces to create a new professional advocacy service to support patients, parents and carers whilst promoting safe, effective, affordable and equitable access to medicinal cannabis for all who could benefit.
Not-for-profit, Cannabis Patient Advocacy and Support Services Ltd. will be providing a range of services to patients who could benefit from accessing medicinal cannabis in what is proving to be a highly restrictive environment.
Jon Liebling the former Political Director of United Patients Alliance and researcher for The Centre for Medicinal Cannabis and Basia Zieniewicz co-founder of Families4Access are the founding partners of what they believe will become a step change in how patients are supported in the UK.
Basia is, today, at the EU Parliament in Brussels talking about safe and ethical access to medicinal cannabis from an educators perspective on patient advocacy.
Jon said "I'm thrilled to have the opportunity, drawing from a wealth of international industry experience, to build best practice cannabis patient centered advocacy and support services here in the UK"
Basia said "Patients all over the UK, and not only, are struggling to get access to the medicine they need with new system and deserve the very best professional support. We will deliver education and compassionate support for patients, parents, carers and advocates"
