William Gossard Joins ATA Associates' Consultant Base

William "Bill" Gossard has 48 years of experience as a consultant in transportation safety issues. Bill has worked for the Federal Railroad Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), as well as the private sector organization Fresh Air Educators.

Mr. Gossard has a vast knowledge of various transportation modes including, but not limited to, recreational boating and personal watercraft safety (off throttle steering), railroad-highway grade crossing safety, hazardous materials tank car safety, fire safety on rail rapid transit safety cars and the newly emerging safety issue of drone safety.

Mr. Gossard comments that he is "pleased to be a part of ATA Associates' new team approach in addressing the serious consequences of marine and transportation accidents. This approach has been used successfully for many years by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). I have been fortunate to have worked for this federal agency for most of my federal career of 43 years in many diverse transportation areas."

In the course of his career, Mr. Gossard has completed 12 national reports adopted by the five-member NTSB Presidential Board - a task not equaled by any staff of the NTSB.

Additionally, Mr. Gossard has represented the NTSB internationally before a number of safety organizations in countries such as Germany, Scotland, England, Italy and the Netherlands.
