California chief praises cop allegedly slain by illegal immigrant, hits lawmakers who make it 'more difficult’

The police chief of a tiny California department that lost an officer the day after Christmas when he was killed after stopping an illegal immigrant suspected of driving drunk took a swipe at lawmakers Monday during a ceremony to pay respects to peace officers slain in the line of duty.
