Idaho Virtual Academy to Hold Commencement Ceremonies Across the State

Idaho Virtual Academy (IDVA) will celebrate the Class of 2019 with three in-person commencement ceremonies across the state. An accredited, tuition-free online public charter school, IDVA is available to students in grades K-12 across the state.

“We are so proud of our graduating seniors,” said Kelly Edginton, IDVA’s head of school. “Each student comes to IDVA with unique challenges and goals. It is an honor to help them turn those into unique opportunities and achievements. Our students have worked hard to accomplish their goals, and they are proof of what is possible when students are given a chance to succeed.”

IDVA graduates earn their high school diplomas in a personalized learning environment. Following graduation, members of the Class of 2019 will enroll in two- and four-year colleges and universities, enter military service, or join the full-time workforce.

Collectively, members of the class report having been offered more than $550,000 in scholarships and grants, and report having been accepted to a number of higher education institutions, including: Arizona State University, Boise State University, Idaho State University, University of Idaho, Brigham Young University, Gonzaga University, Treasure Valley Community College, and Washington State University.

IDVA students access a robust online curriculum in the core subjects and a host of electives, and attend live virtual classes taught by state-licensed teachers. IDVA also offers field trips and social outings to foster a sense of school community, such as these annual graduation celebrations.
