Tens of thousands of palm trees dying from bacterial disease

An icon deep rooted in the landscape and heart’s of Florida’s community is in trouble. Florida’s official state trees are dying from a fatal disease. Scientists call it “lethal bronzing”, and it is turning tens of thousands of majestic palms into crisp, naked plants. It’s not just Florida that is being impacted. Researchers say the disease is also found in parts of Texas and throughout the Caribbean. There is also concern it will spread to Arizona and California. Scientists are currently working on developing a cure.
