Essentia Health will lay off 900 employees as losses pile up

Essentia Health, the Duluth-based hospital system, said Thursday that it would lay off 900 employees permanently at it tries to cope with the loss of tens of millions of dollars in lost revenue from the Covid-19 pandemic.
