AMC Entertainment Inc. (AMC), one of the world’s largest and most innovative theatrical exhibition companies, announced today the hiring of Walt Lovell, Deanne Larison and Alicia Poole and promotion of Mark Latimer and Dawn Coble. Together, this group represents the diverse experience of associates working for the Kansas City-based company.
Lovell takes center stage as the vice president of construction for AMC. He will oversee the planning and construction of new AMC theatres, as well as special initiatives at existing theatres. Lovell brings 30 years of construction industry experience to AMC from companies such as Burns & McDonnell Engineering Consultants, J.E. Dunn Construction Company and CCL Construction Consultants. Most recently, he served as director of construction for Applebee’s International, Inc. Lovell earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla and a master’s of business administration from the University of Kansas.
Larison is the new director of financial reporting for AMC, which entails managing both internal and external reporting. She comes to AMC with 16 years of experience working at Interstate Bakeries Corporation (IBC). At IBC, Larison held several accounting and finance management positions, including senior manager of financial reporting. She attended Oklahoma State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting.
Poole stars as a director of marketing for AMC, where she leads the team responsible for media and marketing strategies for AMC’s programs and promotions. She also works collaboratively with studios to develop and execute promotions. Prior to her role at AMC, Poole served as both Greater Kansas City marketing manager and regional consumer marketing manager for Red Bull North America and an events and promotions manager at Harrah’s in North Kansas City. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Iowa.
Latimer is the newly promoted director of quality assurance. He ensures policies and procedures are consistently executed across all theatres to promote an excellent guest experience. Latimer began his career with AMC 13 years ago at an AMC theatre in Oklahoma City and also served as the managing director and general manager for theatres in the Charlotte, Houston, Chicago, Minneapolis and Dallas markets. He studied business management at the University of Oklahoma.
Coble takes on a lead role as the newly promoted director of sales administration for AMC, where she provides process improvement, operations, accounting and financial support to the national sales department. In addition, Coble manages AMC’s gift card management company, AMC Card Processing Services. Previously, Coble served in a variety of positions during her four years at AMC, including working in AMC Card Processing Services as well as accounting and operations. Coble attended the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and communications. Coble is also certified with a Six Sigma Green Belt.
