On Tuesday, September 23, 2008, the Nevada Policy Research Institute (NPRI) and Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) will jointly release the 2008 Nevada Piglet Book, focusing on government waste, hidden spending, and financial mismanagement. This year’s Nevada Piglet Book highlights the excessive salaries and benefits that are given to government employees. The detailed study will be available for viewing at www.TransparentNevada.com and www.cagw.org immediately following the press conference. Sponsored jointly by CAGW and NPRI, the report will include: information on vague government contracts, overpayment of welfare recipients, and wasteful education expenditures. The 2008 Nevada Piglet Book will show the lack of financial transparency which has allowed for rampant wasteful spending.
