Telesphere Wins Most Innovative Disaster Recovery Award

Telesphere (www.telesphere.com) is the winner of the 2008 Telephony Innovation Award for Most Innovative Disaster Recovery Service.

The award was presented to Telespheres CTO Sanjay Srinivasan on Tuesday September 30 at Telephony LIVE: The 2008 Telecom Summit in Chicago.

We are truly honored to receive this distinguished award, but more importantly, we are proud that our hosted service enabled our customer, Warehouse 86 of Memphis, to maintain phone service despite tornadoes and fires that struck their facility last February, said Srinivasan. They didnt miss a single phone call or voice mail.

As businesses depend on their voice and data connections more to do core aspects of their work, they are increasingly looking to telecom service providers to help them keep those connections in place during times of natural or manmade disasters, said Telephony Editor-in-Chief Carol Wilson. Telespheres Hosted PBX service is a practical application of technology in an innovative manner with real payback to the customers. The example cited in the awards application, of a Tennessee company hit by a tornado and a fire in the same week but without losing a single voice-mail message, is compelling.

Businesses throughout the country are searching for technology that can keep their business telecommunications and operating systems running despite disruptions in connectivity, said Clark Peterson, CEO for Telesphere. VoIP business solutions and hosted PBX services are available to all businesses and can prevent companies from experiencing downtime as a result of a natural disaster or outage.

Telephonys Innovation Awards are in their second year of recognizing creative service creation and deployment in the telecom service provider space. The awards are open to all service providers including telecom and cable companies, wireless service providers, managed and hosted service providers, ISPs and applications service providers. The awards are judged by members of Telephonys editorial staff and by guest judges. This years guest judging panel included Daniel Briere, CEO of TeleChoice, Vince Vittore, program manager with the Yankee Group and Cindy Whelan, analyst with Current Analysis.
