IR Magazine China Awards 2008 Nominees Announced; Banking, Transport and Insurance Sectors Top Nominations

Beijing, Dec 8, 2008 - (ACN Newswire) - Banking, transport and insurance sectors gained the most nominations for the IR Magazine China Awards 2008 - surprising news, considering the international financial industry's current problems and the recent high-profile difficulties suffered by some airlines. Air China was the most-nominated company, short-listed in seven categories.

The awards recognize the industry leaders in investor relations. The winners will be announced on December 16 at the annual awards ceremony at the Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing. A full list of this year's nominees is available below or on our website at www.irmagazinechina.com.

The awards are presented in association with The Bank of New York Mellon, and are co-sponsored by Caixun.com, CCG Investor Relations, Christensen, PR Concepts, Citigate Dewe Rogerson, Ever Bloom, Hexun.com, irasia.com, JRJ.com, Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, PR Newswire Asia, Rematch, Rikes Hill & Knowlton, Shihua Financial Information and Thomson Reuters.

The nominees were identified by an independent survey of buy-side analysts, sell-side analysts and portfolio managers. This year's survey has been expanded to include responses from the total universe of global investors covering Asian stocks, not just those based in Asia. The complete results of the survey will be published in IR magazine's Investor Perception Study, Asia 2008/2009 this month.

The IR magazine investor perception studies together make up the world's largest survey of their kind, canvassing more than 5,000 analysts and investors in more than 14 countries and regions. Survey respondents nominate companies in specific categories and offer their opinions on IR-related topics and trends. For more information on the study, please contact Kate Giblin at the number listed at the bottom of this release.
