General Physics Corporation Opens New Pennsylvania Office to Support Energy Services Customers

Global performance improvement solutions provider General Physics Corporation (GP), a subsidiary of GP Strategies Corporation (NYSE:GPX), announced today the opening of their new office in Kittanning, Pennsylvania. The newest of six offices from which GP’s Energy Services business unit operates, the Kittanning office will focus primarily on providing training consulting services, blended training solutions, and compliance-related services for GP’s electric transmission and distribution (T&D) customers.

Increased regulatory oversight by the North American Reliability Corporation (NERC) and other industry drivers such as the impending retirement of large numbers of Baby Boomers have created new challenges for T&D organizations. Through this office, GP will bring the best of its core services and products, namely workforce development and performance improvement consulting, regulatory compliance assistance, web-based training development and hosting, to electric T&D organizations.

Joe Nasal, Senior Vice President of GP’s Energy Services Group, said, “GP has been providing training consulting services to T&D customers for 20 years. With the increased challenges that the industry is currently facing, we believe that it is very appropriate for GP to renew its focus on this part of the electric power industry. By combining our considerable library of technical training material, the talent and expertise of our T&D Services staff, and our industry-leading products such as the GPiLearn web-based training portal, we are able to provide our customers with high quality, cost-effective, and timely blended learning solutions and related products and services.”

John Yankasky is the manager of the new office and will identify and pursue opportunities to expand GP's presence in the T&D training consulting market including system operations, maintenance and construction. He will also manage the operations and staff of the Kittanning office.
