S&P 500 poised to extend weekly winning streak to three

As the S&P 500 Index climbs toward a third consecutive week of gains for only the third time since the bear market began 78 weeks ago, preliminary results on Thursday showed S&P 500 stock buybacks fell hard in the last quarter of 2008.
