Rackable Systems to Outline the Next Generation Green Data Center at Uptime Institute Symposium

Rackable Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:RACK), a leading provider of Eco-Logical™ servers and storage products for medium- to large-scale data centers, will present at the Uptime Institute 4th Annual Research Symposium & Exposition on April 15 at 5:00 p.m. EST. Rackable will also be a sponsor and exhibitor. The show will be held at the Hilton New York, April 13-16; Rackable will be exhibiting in Booth #218.

Geoffrey Noer, vice president of Product Management at Rackable Systems, will present Breakthrough Density and Energy-Efficiency for Cluster Computing,” tying in with the symposium’s theme of “Lean, Clean & Green.” Noer’s topics will include:

  • Innovations in server design, including a look at Rackable Systems’ newly announced CloudRack™ C2, a unified cabinet that combines extreme densities with breakthrough energy efficiency for cluster computing
  • A compelling overview of Power XE™ technology
  • Best practices for addressing and eliminating “stranded power” (a data center's power capacity which is paid for, but ultimately unused)

“As IT departments are being asked to do more with less, stocking a data center with superior density and energy-saving technologies is the smartest investment out there,” said Noer. “Together we can save money and the environment in sharing ideas and insights at the prestigious Uptime Institute Symposium.”

Founded in 1993, the Uptime Institute provides education, publications, consulting, certifications, conferences and seminars, independent research and thought leadership for the enterprise data center industry and for data center professionals. The Institute pioneered the creation and facilitation of end-user knowledge communities to improve reliability and uninterruptible availability—uptime—in data center facilities and information technology organizations. Today, the 100-plus members of the Institute’s global site, Uptime Networks®, are mostly Fortune 100-sized companies having multiple data centers, averaging 50,000 square feet of computer room area and consuming six megawatts of utility power.
