China Resources first-quarter net profit $54 mil

HONG KONG (MarketWatch) -- China Resources Enterprise Ltd. said Friday its first-quarter net profit fell 35% from a year earlier as heavy discounting and promotional activities at its core retail business led to lower contributions in spite on higher sales.
