Tenet Announces New CEO at Centennial Medical Center

Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: THC) announced today the appointment of Joe Thomason as chief executive officer of Tenet’s Centennial Medical Center, a 118-bed acute care hospital located in Frisco, Texas. Thomason, 49, has served as the hospital’s interim chief executive officer since March 2009. As CEO, he oversees all strategic, operational and clinical activities at Centennial.

“I am pleased that Joe has accepted this leadership position at Centennial Medical Center,” said Robert L. Smith, senior vice president of operations for Tenet’s Central Region. “His extensive experience in health care management will play a key role in the continued provision of high-quality care to the patients and community served by Centennial Medical Center, its medical staff and employees.”

Thomason recently served as chief executive officer of RHD Memorial Medical Center in Dallas and Brownsville Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. Prior to these roles, he served as chief operating officer for Sierra Medical Center, a 354-bed acute care hospital in El Paso, Texas.

Thomason received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from West Texas State University and his master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in health organization management from Texas Tech.
