UBP hires veterans from BGI, Fortress

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) - Union Bancaire Privee said Tuesday that it hired two hedge fund veterans from Barclays Global Investors and Fortress Investment Group as the Swiss private bank tries to bolster its hedge fund investment business after a painful brush with Bernard Madoff's Ponzi scheme.
