RSC Your College Prep Expert (RSC), an online college prep program, announces today that they will begin conducting free webinar sessions on the financial realities of paying for college, during the first week in May. The webinars are initially scheduled to be held on Tuesday, May 1st at 7 p.m., Saturday May 5th at 10 a.m. and Sunday, May 6th at 1 p.m. Eastern Time.
To participate in the free webinars, families should register at the Webinar Enrollment page. Those who attend a webinar will receive a free financial aid file. Topics included in the material are: Top Ten Financial Aid Mistakes, Ten Steps to Good Financial Aid, Financial Aid Plans and Options and an interactive college-cost tutorial and calculator. Families can also address their individual concerns.
"The headlines about student debt and financial aid cuts have families worried," explains John Braat, Executive Director of Student Enrollment at RSC Your College Prep Expert, who also will be leading the webinars. "This webinar presents the facts in a clear-cut way that lets students know what's going on, while still giving them hope that they can afford a terrific college education," he added.
RSC strongly encourages families with children in 8th through 11th grade should attend at least of the webinars. The program offers long-term and short-term steps families can take to increase their financial aid. The RSC staff will also outline a complete college prep program that provides families additional help.
"We're excited to help families in such a direct way," says Maura Kastberg, Executive Director of Student Services at RSC Your College Prep Expert. "Eighth and 9th graders are often forgotten in the search for financial aid, but their activities play a big part in how much aid they'll eventually receive," she says.
Following the end of each webinar, a Q&A session will be conducted.
