No longer just selling commercial fitness equipment such as treadmills, ellipticals, and strength equipment, Wilkins' offerings now include playground equipment, flooring, rehab equipment, patio furniture, and ADA compliant pool lifts in addition to their previous lines. To reflect its wider diversity of offerings, the holding company has formally announced a change in its name.
The name change comes on the heels of the company celebrating its 10th birthday In 2011 by adding its one millionth product. Less than 6 months later Wilkins Solutions carries over 1.5 million products from 400+ manufacturers and suppliers. This large portfolio has allowed Wilkins to be the only company in the industry established to offer its customers comprehensive amenity solutions for their facilities with one point of accountability on a national scale.
When asked why the change was necessary, later Chairman Ron Wilkins replied, "With over 1.5 million products, Wilkins had outgrown its fitness pedigree. We have stayed true to our roots in affecting the health and wellness of all generations of America by adding product lines to help our customers act more efficiently at a lower cost."
As part of the new brand name, the company has also introduced 30 new companies. The new brands cross a wide spectrum, ranging anywhere from Wilkins Healthcare Solutions to Wilkins Playground Solutions to Wilkins Financing Solutions.
Additionally, with the formal roll-out of Wilkins Service Solutions, they have established the largest service network in the United States. VP of Service Barry Wilkins added, "Providing the right product is only a piece of the equation. With the largest service network in North America, we can service nearly any brand of fitness equipment, playground, or pool. With our 24 hour guaranteed response time, we demonstrate our commitment to making sure our customers' customers are served." With the largest service network in the nation Wilkins Solutions has continued to grow rapidly despite the current economic downturn.
In addition to the new name and website, Wilkins will be continuing to add to its growing sales force and service network with new openings in many regions across the country.
