Training on NPHR Human Resources Planning Software for Nuclear Energy Power Plant Industry, London, 10-12 September 2012

One of the greater challenges for countries pursuing energy independence through the establishment of their own sovereign nuclear energy power plant programme is human resources - the availability and training of a knowledgeable workforce to construct and safely operate nuclear power plants. To assist in meeting this challenge, the non-profit IX Power Foundation http://www.IXPower.com is offering a conference on human resource planning and an introductory training session on NPHR, the unique human resource planning and modeling software tool for the nuclear energy power plant industry created at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) http://www.iaea.org. The three-day human resources event, supported by the Nuclear Industry Association (NIA) http://www.niauk.org will be held September 10-12, 2012 in London at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies http://ials.sas.ac.uk. Information about attending the human resources training can be obtained by visiting the website: http://www.IXPower.com/NPHRtrain.

The nuclear energy NPHR human resources tool was licensed to the IX Power Foundation by LANL to distribute it globally and provide training on how to utilize it effectively. “The NPHR human resources tool was initially designed to assist in the creation of a nuclear power capability in countries without an established infrastructure,” said Deborah Deal-Blackwell, the Foundation’s CEO. “However, even countries well experienced in nuclear power plant planning can benefit from NPHR’s rational and comprehensive approach to human resources planning for existing and new plants.”

The IX Power Foundation is affiliated with New Mexico-based IX Power LLC, a technology transfer company that recently signed an agreement with Los Alamos National Laboratory for commercializing safe power and clean water technologies.

The founders of IX Power, comprised of John Grizz Deal, Randall Wilson, L. Robert Libutti, Otis “Pete” Peterson, and Deborah Deal-Blackwell, are renowned for their commercialization of the Hyperion Power SMR (small, modular nuclear energy reactor) from LANL that is safe and small enough to be transported on the back of a truck. Today, under their new company IX Power, their interests have been expanded to include every type of clean energy technology — wind, solar, bio fuels, geothermal, and nuclear. The company and foundation are based in Los Alamos, New Mexico and have offices in Denver, Colorado; Washington, D.C.; and London, England.
