Nuveen Investments, a leading global provider of investment services to institutions as well as individual investors, today announced that three funds have issued Variable Rate Term Preferred Shares (VRTP) through private placements to a qualified institutional buyer, as defined pursuant to Rule 144A under the Securities Act of 1933.
New VRTP issuance details are as follow:
|Nuveen Floating Rate Income Fund||JFR||$139.00||Feb 1, 2017|
|Nuveen Floating Rate Income Opportunity Fund||JRO||$98.00||Feb 1, 2017|
|Nuveen Senior Income Fund||NSL||$58.00||Feb 1, 2017|
The proceeds from the issuances will be used to permit each respective fund to invest in additional securities in accordance with its investment objectives and policies, repay a portion of its outstanding indebtedness, and to pay costs associated with the transaction.
The VRTP shares will initially pay a dividend based upon a fixed spread to the cost of funds of a large financial institution’s commercial paper conduit. VRTP shares are preferred securities of the fund and are senior, with priority in all respects, to the fund’s common shares in liquidation and as to payments of dividends.
No VRTP shares have been registered under the Securities Act of 1933 (the Securities Act) or any state securities laws. Unless so registered, no VRTP shares may be offered or sold in the United States except pursuant to an exemption from the registration requirements of the Securities Act and applicable state securities laws. This press release is neither an offer to sell nor a solicitation of an offer to buy any of these securities.
