Row NYC Unveils City Kitchen

Row NYC, the art-driven and New York-centric hotel that has redefined the traditional hospitality experience, is now set to revolutionize the Times Square food landscape. The property recently announced that it will launch an urban style food market dutifully coined “City Kitchen” this March. Hotel guests and Times Square locals will have the unique opportunity to indulge in some of the city’s most desired and buzzed about food concepts – without having to travel to taste them. City Kitchen will bring to Row NYC a collection of restaurant trailblazers to continue the evolution that has made this property one of the most exciting to open in Times Square to date.

Nine permanent and seasonal vendors will offer capsule collections of their menus, providing City Kitchen visitors with an off-the-grid dining experience in a neighborhood where the food scene has been notoriously mainstream. Keeping true to Row NYC’s overall mission of being “More NY Than NY,” the vendors will represent a culinary road map of the most sought after food concepts in the city from the East Village to the Upper West Side to Brooklyn… and everywhere in between. City Kitchen will give diners the opportunity to eat “out of the box” and will be a welcome addition to the Times Square food standard.

“Row NYC appreciates that people in this neighborhood are seeking genuine and honest food,” says Row NYC’s brand strategist Heidi Avedisian, market curator and interior designer. “And that is exactly what City Kitchen will bring to the table. We searched the city for authentic and dynamic vendors across a variety of categories and tasked them to pair down their menus to the ‘best of the best.’ The result is a menu of crave-worthy options, cherry-picked for both travelers and the locals who know these purveyors so well.”

City Kitchen will be a nostalgic nod to the classic working kitchen and will feature industrial décor such as white subway tile, marble, reclaimed wood, gingham, and statement Italian glass chandeliers. Fixed steel and turquoise leather stools along the floor-to-ceiling windows will provide customers with an unobstructed view of Times Square. The unique brand and personality of the assorted purveyors will be reflected within their own space, making City Kitchen as diverse as the streets of New York.

Signature items from permanently housed vendors will include: The Manhattan roll from Azuki sushi; dulce de leche doughnuts by Dough; lobster rolls from Luke’s Lobster; Whitmans’ “Juicy Lucy” burger; duck shawarma from ilili Box; Gabriela’s fish tacos; and ramen bowls by Kuro Obi, Ippudo’s new concept developed exclusively for City Kitchen. Additionally, Wooly’s shaved snow and Sigmund’s pretzels will debut as the market’s seasonal vendors, keeping City Kitchen as vibrant and imaginative as the hotel it resides in. “City Kitchen is the essence of what’s dynamic and real about the New York food landscape,” says Avedisian. “This collaboration of eclectic restaurateurs bringing their passion together under one roof makes for what we think is an utterly of-the-moment New York dining experience.”

City Kitchen’s three entrances are located on 8th Avenue, 44th Street, and from within the Row NYC lobby. Beginning in April, City Kitchen will provide delivery service to the hotel and greater Times Square area.
