PRLog - Mar. 21, 2014 - DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Authors Lenny Schneir, Dr. David B. Axelrod and Dr. Carol Thomas are pleased to announce that they have inked a deal with Llewellyn, the world's oldest and largest independent publisher of books for body, mind, and spirit.

The book is entitled Merlin Stone Remembered and will be available in the fall of 2014. It will contain 396 pages of commentary on, and previously unpublished work by, Merlin Stone. With a preface by renowned feminist, Gloria Orenstein, the book has been endorsed by such notable authors as Olympia Dukakis, Barbara G. Walker, Z. Budapest, Starhawk, and many others.

“It’s been a passion of mine, and a labor of love, to create a book like this to honor Merlin Stone,” said Lenny Schneir, one of the authors of the book. “She was a courageous pioneer and researcher and it’s our hope that the story will have a positive impact on readers,” he added.

Merlin Stone was the author of several books including When God Was a Woman and Ancient Mirrors of Womanhood. She was an ardent feminist, artist, sculptor, art historian, persistent, tireless and courageous traveler, researcher, writer, lecturer and speaker. She traveled the globe alone, including some places most Americans wouldn’t travel today, gathering material to expose what many scholars, psychologists and historians have called “the biggest hoax” in the universe—the Adam and Eve creation story and the Biblical accounts of patriarchy and male dominance as dictated by a Father God.

Lenny Schneir was Merlin Stone’s life partner for over 35 years. He was born in Brooklyn, received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Denver, served in the Army, and became a professional poker player, collector and author. He currently resides in Daytona Beach.

Dr. David B. Axelrod holds a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts, an M.A. from the Johns Hopkins University, an M.F.A. from The University of Iowa, and a Ph.D. from Union Institute. He is the recipient of three Fulbright Awards and author of twenty-one books of poetry. As a professor in the State University of New York system, he taught creative writing and conducted conferences and visiting writers programs. He is Director of the Creative Happiness Institute, and currently resides in Daytona Beach.

Dr. Carol Thomas holds a Ph.D. in Literature and Psychology from Union University and Institute, a Doctorate in Applied Theology from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, a Master of Arts in Creative Writing and Poetry from Stetson University, and a Master of Arts in Psychology from Saint Leo University. She taught literature, psychology and women’s studies at the University of Connecticut, Bowie State University, and Cameron University. Dr. Thomas and her husband reside in Ormond-by-the Sea.

Llewellyn Worldwide has been in the publishing business since 1901 and specializes in metaphysical books and resources that are considered to be at the forefront of holistic and metaphysical publishing and thought.
