When placed in a high heel, a Lily Ped gives the sole a more gradual slope that shifts weight off the ball of the foot with minimal intrusion into the shoe. Most high heel discomfort is the result of a dramatic downward arc in the sole of the shoe that concentrates 80 percent or more of a woman’s weight on the ball of her foot. The extreme pressure on a few small bones and soft tissues can often be extremely painful.
