The markets closed near the flatline with the Dow easing 3 points to 11,977 over mixed earnings. Nasdaq added a point to 2719.
On the upside
Tuesday Morning (Nasdaq: TUES) reported lower second quarter earnings but the discount furniture retailer forecast full year results ahead of estimates.
Although AK Steel Holding (NYSE: AKS) swung to a loss for the fourth quarter, the results were better than expected.
Harley-Davidson (NYSE: HOG) narrowed fourth quarter losses as revenue rose to surpass analyst estimates.
On the downside
Shares of Genco Shipping & Trading (NYSE: GNK) after Korea Line, which charters vessels from shipping companies, filed for bankruptcy.
