PRLog - Mar. 17, 2014 - STIR Journal is a new online magazine which explores the most controversial social and political issues. STIR launched March 17, featuring an interview with Shannon Watts, Founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. Each week STIR will publish an essay, interview, or video that addresses current issues in a provocative yet professional manner.

"STIR was inspired by the disparity in how we publicly discuss issues and how we think and talk about them privately," said Jonna Ivin, STIR's Founder. "We value thoughtful honesty over political correctness, and hope to provide a positive space for constructive and productive conversation."

STIR plans to tackle the most politically charged issues, including gun control, the environment, healthcare reform, and social equality. STIR was created by Ivin, Laurel Hermanson (Editor-in-Chief), and Traci Foust (Managing Editor), three writers dedicated to seeing their work make a difference. The March 17 interview with Shannon Watts promises to set the tone for future issues.

"We were proud to share Shannon Watts' story," Ivin said. "We wanted to start with something people feel passionate about, and gun violence seemed an obvious choice." Read interview.
