“THE MOMENT” Has Arrived in World Title Bout for Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana, Presented Live in Cinemas Saturday, May 3

Fathom Events, Mayweather Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions are pleased to present boxing's pound-for-pound superstar, pay-per-view king and WBC Welterweight World Champion Floyd "Money" Mayweather facing the dangerous, power-punching WBA Welterweight World Champion Marcos "El Chino" Maidana on Saturday, May 3 at 9:00 p.m. ET / 8:00 p.m. CT / 7:00 p.m. MT / 6:00 p.m. PT / 5:00 p.m. AK / 3:00 p.m. HI. THE MOMENT: Mayweather vs. Maidana will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas to select theaters nationwide in an event that will pit the masterful talent of Mayweather against the power of the Argentine slugger, Maidana. This 12-round world championship bout may prove to be Mayweather’s toughest fight ever.

The co-main event of “THE MOMENT: Mayweather vs. Maidana” features British superstar and former Unified Super Lightweight World Champion Amir “King” Khan taking on former World Champion Luis Collazo in a 12-round welterweight bout.

Also featured on the card is an exciting junior welterweight bout featuring former World Champion Adrien “The Problem” Broner against the hard-hitting Californian Carlos Molina. Rounding out the card is a super middleweight matchup between unbeaten J’Leon Love and former title challenger and Mexican Olympian Marco Antonio Periban of Mexico City.

Tickets for “THE MOMENT: Mayweather vs. Maidana” are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com. For a complete list of theater locations and prices, visit the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change). The event will be broadcast to more than 520 select movie theaters across the country through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network.

“Fathom Events continues to give fans the unique experience of showing my fights on movie screens across the country. I’m grateful that Fathom believed in my vision a few years ago to bring them to theatres,” said Mayweather. “I have no doubt that my fight against Maidana is going to be the type of fight that no one has seen me in, and seeing it on the big screen will make the experience that much better.”

"The fight against Floyd Mayweather on May 3 is the most important of my career, and I'm excited that my fans that can't watch the fight at the MGM Grand can see it live in movie theaters around the United States,” said Marcos Maidana. “This is going to be a big win for me against Mayweather, and it deserves to be seen on the big screen."

Undefeated Floyd "Money" Mayweather, (45-0, 26 KOs), a 10-time world champion in five weight divisions, reaffirmed his worldwide popularity when he faced then- undefeated boxing phenomenon Canelo Alvarez last September. The mega-event, which set the record as the highest grossing pay-per-view event in television history with over $150 million in revenue, showed once again that Mayweather's drawing power is unlike any other.

Thirty-year-old Marcos "El Chino" Maidana (35-3, 31 KOs) stunned the boxing world in December when he defeated up-and-coming superstar Adrien Broner with an unforgettable performance. Maidana first emerged on the world scene in 2009, when he won the interim WBA Junior Welterweight World Championship with a stunning sixth-round technical knockout over Victor Ortiz. In the 2010 Fight of the Year, Maidana lost to Amir Khan, but he regained the belt with another classic against future Hall of Famer Erik Morales in 2011. In 2012, Maidana joined forces with renowned trainer Robert Garcia (2012 Trainer of the Year) and has since gone undefeated at 4-0 with 3 knockouts.

Our partnership with Fathom has allowed fans across the nation to go to the theatre and watch boxing’s best on the big screen. May 3 will be another Mayweather experience that we know the fans will enjoy.”

“We're pleased to be partnering with Fathom Events once again for what we expect to be one of the biggest fights of 2014,” said Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions. “Floyd Mayweather will get his toughest challenge from Marcos Maidana on May 3, but the ultimate winners will be the fans who get to see this spectacular event on the big screen around the country.”

“Floyd Mayweather is the undisputed champion and fight fans will be on the edge of their seats as he defends his title against Maidana,” said Shelly Maxwell, executive vice president of Fathom Events. “Fathom is thrilled to bring another world championship fight to cinemas nationwide and ‘The Moment’ promises to pack a real punch delivering the ultimate ringside experience for fans.”
