MFS Closed-End Funds Announce Appointment

Robin A. Stelmach has been named president of twelve closed-end funds ("the funds") managed by Massachusetts Financial Services Company, d/b/a MFS Investment Management® (MFS®), effective today. The twelve funds are:

Ms. Stelmach is an executive vice president and chief operating officer of MFS, the investment advisor to the funds, and is also a trustee of the funds. She is a member of MFS' management committee. Ms. Stelmach joined MFS in 1989 and has held several senior roles within the firm's investment research, investment risk and investment support and technology groups. Prior to MFS, she spent four years as chief accountant and divisional controller for ASA International, Ltd.

No changes to the funds' investment objectives or strategies will occur as a result of this appointment.
