Fourth quarter earnings for Amazon.com Inc. (Nasdaq: AMZN) more than doubled to $1.00 per diluted share from $0.45 per diluted share in the year ago period but the results fell far short of analyst expectations. The stock price plunged $51.84 to $583.51.
