Philadelphia, PA - January 29, 2016 - (Newswire.com)
Steven G. Bardsley, Partner, Hoagland, Longo, Moran, Dunst & Doukas, LLP, has joined The Expert Network, an invitation only service for distinguished professionals. Mr. Bardsley has been chosen as a Distinguished Lawyer™ based on peer reviews and ratings, dozens of recognitions, and accomplishments achieved throughout his career.
Bardsley outshines others in his field due to his extensive educational background, and numerous awards and recognitions. He graduated cum laude with Honors in environmental engineering with a minor in physics from Wilkes University in 1988. He then worked for several years at Clayton Environmental Consultants, Inc., conducting investigations of contaminated commercial and industrial properties. In 1993, Bardsley received his Juris Doctor from Pace University. There he completed their Environmental Law Certificate Program. He also served as the Research and Writing Editor of the Pace Environmental Law Review, was elected Student Representative, and captained the Pace University Rugby Football Club. During his time in law school, he worked as a law clerk for the US EPA and PA Department of Environmental Protection.
With nearly 23 years dedicated to law, Bardsley brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry, and in particular to his area of specialization, construction litigation. When asked what inspired him to pursue this specialization, Bardsley noted his previous experience working as a professional engineer and his desire to help those in his former profession with their legal issues. He said:
"I was a practicing engineer, and I thought engineers were being undervalued. Engineers have a lot of exposure, they work really hard, and they don’t get paid a lot of money. They are terribly undervalued as a profession. Engineers are the ones that actually do stuff. Lawyers, especially on the civil end, pretty much manage risk and reallocate wealth. But engineers actually make things happen."
As a thought-leader in his industry, Bardsley's practice also focuses on Administrative & Regulatory Violations, Architects & Engineers, Construction Defect, Environmental & Toxic Mold, Design Defects/Errors & Omissions, and Risk Management. As Hoagland Longo’s Partner-in-Charge, his goal is to grow the firm's presence in Philadelphia. By growing the firm, he expects to provide clients with a wide array of elite legal services.
When asked what legal trends he is focusing on currently, Bardsley noted he is focused on how construction projects are contracted:
"The method by which engineers and architects contract to provide services is something that I'm focused on. The typical process is 'design-bid-build', and now it's moving towards 'design-build,' which is not necessarily a good thing for architects and engineers."
Bardsley is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is currently identified as a “mobile practitioner.” He is ranked by Chambers & Partners as one of the top construction litigators in PA. He is a member of the American Council of Engineering and Companies Legal Forum (ACEC) and the AVA Construction Litigation Forum. Bardsley holds numerous recognitions, including an "AV" Peer Review Rating from Matindale-Hubbell®.
