Appliance Recycling Ltd, an appliance recycling and electronic recycling company, has announced that on November 30, they will be moving from 5A Beasley Ave Penrose Auckland to 119D Captain Springs Road Onehunga Auckland. They explained that the move is to better serve Auckland clients, including those from the Auckland Central Suburbs, North Shore, West Auckland, South Auckland and Eastern Auckland Suburbs, and Papakura.
Darren Rapson from Appliance Recycling Ltd says, "We are happy to announce that we are moving to a new location on November 30, from 5A Beasley Ave Penrose Auckland to 119D Captain Springs Road Onehunga. We are moving to better serve our clients. Please note that we offer a drop off service for old appliances that are either dead or don't work properly anymore."
Darren continues, "Get on board with us as we collect strip and recycle any old whiteware products including washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, fridges, freezers, stoves, cookers and any small electrical devices. Get that old fridge out now and come drop it off for just a small fee of $10 per large item or we can collect it from your place starting at $55 (inclusive of the recycle fee of $10). Darren explains that their goal is to help people in Auckland recycle their old appliances and electronic devices that are no longer functioning. He points out that the cost is only $10 for drop off of one large item and then $5 for each additional item. Darren adds that their rule of thumb is that anything that is smaller than a microwave will be free of charge. For instance, kettles, toasters, jugs, electric toothbrush, kitchen mixers, waste disposal, floor or small fans, laptops, tablets, computers, charge cables, old phones, coffee or tea machines, hair curlers or straighteners, men's electric shavers, small deep fryers, DVD, video players, food processors, sewing machines, irons, hair dryers, all brown goods, and many more will be free of charge for drop off.
Meanwhile, examples of large items where the charge would be $10 for the first item and $5 for the succeeding items, are microwave oven, LCD television, freezers, domestic stoves, range hoods, heat pump, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, dryers, dishwashers, wall ovens, heaters, and more. It should be noted that for CRT television, the fee will be $30. Meanwhile, clients are urged not to bring any packaging, plastic, polystyrene or cardboard when dropping off their appliances or electronic devices.
Darren points adds that they can also arrange collection from certain locations. For the North, they can collect from Albany, for the South, from Papakura, for the East, from Howick, and for the West, from Massey. Drop offs can be received from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm during weekdays only. However, they will not collect anywhere near the Auckland central business district (CBD) because of problems with traffic, parking, access, and more.
Darren wants to clarify that they don't pay for scrap appliances or other items. He says, "If you were wanting cash for scrap please see your local scrap metal dealer."
Furthermore, they do not accept beds and bedding, couches, furniture, etc. They only accept appliances such as white goods and brown goods. Darren says that the rule of thumb is that if it can't be plugged into an electric outlet, they won't accept it. Also, they will not help with disconnecting the appliance in the kitchen or laundry nor will they take the appliance outside.
Just like the rubbish man, clients will need to leave the appliance outside and they will collect them on the day specified when the client booked for a pick up. Pick up of old whiteware in Auckland is provided with a minimum of $55 call out fee for one large item, which also includes the $10 recycling fee. Additional costs will be incurred for two or more items. Clients will need to contact Appliance Recycling Ltd for the appropriate fees.
Darren says, "Don't let your old washing machine, dryer, fridge, freezer, cooker, dishwasher or stove end up in Auckland's landfills. Each year thousands of old and disused electrical appliances and whiteware get trashed and replaced by Auckland consumers and many of them end up as landfill. At Appliance Recycling Ltd we strip down and recycle all materials from all whiteware and electrical goods at our workshop facility."
