Aldata Solution, Inc., a leading provider of software solutions for the retail industry, today announced Strasbourg’s University Hospitals (SUH) will deploy Aldata G.O.L.D. Stock warehouse management system for the management and distribution of products for 250 operational units within the six hospitals that are supplied by SUH in order to improve efficiency and meet traceability obligations. The project will start immediately.
An initial evaluation of SUH’s logistics resulted in a series of organizational recommendations including the construction of a new 22,000-square-meter distribution facility as well as a software solution to manage and support their stock and central pharmacy, catering, transport, depot and waste treatment services.
For the real-time management of its distribution activities, SUH chose the Aldata G.O.L.D. Stock warehouse management system and a mobile RFID solution from CIPAM, a member of the Aldata Mobility Alliance, for hospital equipment management. Many of these activities will be executed on multi-modal PDA terminals giving SUH the option to deploy voice-directed operations and benefit from additional efficiencies.
Delivery and laundry trolleys will be equipped with RFID tags for traceability management within SUH’s logistics network. In addition, warehouse management functions will integrate and communicate with the on-board computer systems of the Auto-Guided Vehicle network that serves the different hospital functional units. In the future, Aldata will also support the implementation of an automatic dispensary, which will prepare prescriptions for each individually named patient.
In line with European healthcare traceability legislation and SUH’s own stringent quality standards, the Aldata and CIPAM solution will enable the hospital to ensure traceability of all its products and specific operational flows via the use of traceability indicators, outgoing flow indicators, serial numbers, batch recall, traceability of secondary flux flows and follow through of urgent orders.
