Conceptual MindWorks, Inc. (CMI) will host Dr. Kary Banks Mullis, an American biochemist and Nobel Laureate, at a Technical Exchange Luncheon at CMI corporate offices in San Antonio on July 10th.
During the private half-day session, Dr. Mullis and CMI scientists will discuss the future of using selected CMI Patented Technologies in DNA Capture Elements for the purpose of treating infectious or venomous diseases that currently have no treatment.
Dr. Mullis was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1993 for his development of the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), a central technique in biochemistry and molecular biology which allows the amplification of specific DNA sequences. Dr Mullis subsequently was awarded the Japan Prize that same year.
