The OAUG Announces Formation of New Oracle Applications User Group

The Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG), the world’s largest knowledgebase for Oracle Applications users, announced it is forming the OAUG Middle East Oracle Applications Users Group to further expand the OAUG’s international outreach and extend its member benefits to a new group of users of Oracle products. The new group is to be formally launched at the OAUG Connection Point® - Dubai Conference, which occurs April 1-2, 2009, at the Dhow Palace Hotel.

The OAUG is establishing the group to provide members throughout the Middle East expanded access to the worldwide OAUG community. Through education, networking and influence to Oracle, the OAUG helps participating members enhance professional development, visibility and connections; maximize their investment in Oracle applications; save time and money by streamlining implementations; express wishes and concerns directly to Oracle and remain conversant with emerging trends.

The OAUG currently has formal membership agreements with a number of international affiliated user groups, including Australia, Japan, Netherlands, Israel, Germany and Pakistan.

“The OAUG Connection Point seminar will initiate a user community dedicated to connecting Oracle customers,” said Said Husam Dajani, senior vice president, Oracle Middle East and Africa. “Sharing experiences is one of the key elements in successful product implementations and productivity improvement. This kind of event will be useful for all customers.”

Participating affiliated user groups receive benefits including around-the-clock access to information via the OAUG Knowledge Factory™, a dynamic platform for user-submitted content that provides a comprehensive knowledge-sharing resource for the organization’s members; a role in OAUG’s annual conferences; online educational sessions; guidance on how to align specific business practices with current Oracle initiatives and assistance in developing new programs within the Oracle community.

“According to a recent survey of OAUG members, members of the Oracle community were found to get more value from their Oracle investments than the general customer population,” said Jan Wagner, committee chair of the OAUG EMEA and OAUG immediate past president. “The OAUG also found a great demand for its services throughout the Middle East and is responding by creating the Middle East Oracle Applications Users Group to expand our international outreach.”
