Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/lf5rgw/strategic_analysis)
has announced the addition of Frost & Sullivan's new report "Strategic
Analysis of North American Medium/Heavy-duty Commercial Vehicle
Maintenance and Repair Market" to their offering.
This study analyzes the various market dynamics of the different North
American parts and service channels for medium and heavy-duty buses and
trucks. Areas covered within the scope of this research include overall
component revenue by vehicle type and parts category. This study further
includes research analysis focused on market drivers and restraints and
competitive benchmarking for participants of parts-manufacturing,
distribution, and services. Key data points covered in this research
include total market size for aftermarket components, total revenues by
vehicle type and component category, market drivers and restraints,
component manufacturing and distribution and impact of regulations and
technological changes.
A Vehicle Parc of 6.5 Million in North America Presents a Plethora of
Opportunities for the Medium/Heavy-duty CV Maintenance and Repair Market
The maintenance and repair market's fortunes are directly linked to
those of the commercial vehicle (CV) market, but the aftermarket
participants have little to fear as the number of CVs is expected to
multiply from 6.5 million units in 2010 to 7.6 million in 2017. During
the same period, the total parts revenue is likely to increase from
$15.96 billion to $22.81 billion. The last few years have been tough on
the North American CV repair and maintenance market, as the downturn had
compelled many fleet owners to defer major repairs and maintenance,
causing a steep drop in the demand for replacement parts. If freight
activity decreases and fleets start to cannibalize parts from their
unused vehicles, it could further dampen the demand for replacement
parts. However, as the economy slowly improves, both freight tonnage and
average annual miles traveled are expected to increase for medium and
heavy-duty trucks. At the same time, fleets will continue to be cautious
about replacing their trucks, leading to greater component wear and tear
in an aging truck population.
