Flat Open On Little Economic News

The markets opened flat with the Dow adding 10 points to 16,429 while Nasdaq rose 12 points to 4346 with little economic news to motivate investors.

On the upside

FuelCell (Nasdaq: FCEL) narrowed first quarter losses as revenue soared.

Clean Diesel Technologies (Nasdaq: CDTI) will begin producing its high-performance Mixed Phase Catalyst technology for the Honda 2015 Acura TLX.

Elliott Associates acquired a 4.99% stake in Boyd Gaming (NYSE: BYD).

On the downside


American Eagle Outfitters (NYSE: AEO) reported sharply lower fourth quarter earnings and forecast first quarter results well below analyst estimates.

A U. S. court denied Myriad Genetics' (Nasdaq: MYGN) motion to stop a rival from selling genetic tests that were similar to Myriad's.

Fuel-Tech (Nasdaq: FTEK) swung to a profit for the fourth quarter but the results missed expectations.

In the broad market, declining issues outpaced advancers by a margin of more than 7 to 5 on the NYSE and by more than 3 to 2 on Nasdaq. The broader S&P 500 held steady at 1877. Bitcoin added $2.76 or 0.45% to $618.42.
