THAT'S WHEN NC STATE POLICE HAD TO PERFORM A WELFARE CHECK ON THE STUDENT FAMILY HAD REPORTED THE STUDENT WAS ACTING STRANGELY AND HAD WITHDRAWN LARGE SUMS OF MONEY. THE STUDENT ULTIMATELY TOLD POLICE THEY WERE THE VICTIM OF A DATING AGENCY SCAM. EXPERTS SAY THE NUMBER OF THESE SCAMS EXPLODED IN 2020 AND THEY'RE GETTING MORE COMMENT. &gt;&gt; BECAUSE IT'S SO UNEXPECTED RATE.
