Solarize St Lawrence Results in over 300KW of Renewable Energy

St Lawrence County, NY – Upstate New York is seeing huge strides made with Solar Power, thanks in large part to the efforts of St Lawrence County leaders and the Solarize St Lawrence program. Solarize St Lawrence has seen tremendous success this summer, with over 40 home and business owners committed to installing new solar systems, adding 370,000+ Watts of renewable energy generation in upstate New York. “We are thrilled at the success we have seen with Solarize St Lawrence this year,” said Ben Sopczyk, of Apex Solar Power. “The community has really taken hold of the solar message and ran with it, 370KW of renewable energy is a remarkable accomplishment, and shows just how motivated people are in St Lawrence County to pursue solar options.” Most of these new customers are the result of informational workshops presented by Solarize St Lawrence and St Lawrence County.  The next FREE public workshop will be at at River Mist Winery, in Ogdensburg, NY on September 21st.  Solarize St Lawrence Workshop at River Mist WineryThursday, September 21st from 6pm to 8pm9830 State Highway 37Ogdensburg, New York, NY 13669River Mist Winery Website and Facebook The River Mist Winery workshop will incorporate a “Solar 101” presentation by Apex Solar Power.  This will cover information about the Solarize program, benefits that it brings to area residents and program discounts, as well as details on why solar is a good fit for homes in New York.  Followed by ample time for questions and answers, Solarize workshops are the best place to learn about solar in a constructive environment, and have your questions answered about this exciting source of energy.  Light refreshments will be provided for attendees, and the event is free to attend.  This free event is Supported by NY Sun and NYSERDA.  Solarize campaigns are locally organized community outreach efforts aimed at getting a group of homes and businesses in one area to go solar.
