(b)                                 On January 28, 2011, Blythe McGarvie notified The Travelers Companies, Inc. (the “Company”) that she will not stand for re-election to the Company’s Board of Directors at the Company’s 2011 Annual Meeting of Shareholders.  Ms. McGarvie’s decision was not due to any disagreement with the Company’s management or Board of Directors.

 

Ms. McGarvie will serve out the remainder of her term, which will end at the Company’s 2011 Annual Meeting of Shareholders.

 

The Company is grateful to Ms. McGarvie for her years of service on the Board.
