Nordson Chairman, President and CEO Edward P. Campbell was interviewed today on cable station CNBC's "Street Signs" program. In response to a question from the host regarding the impact of an economic slowdown on Nordson’s U.S. business, Mr. Campbell provided the following information:
· Total orders in the U.S. for the 12 week period ending January 20, 2008 were up 14 percent over the same period in the prior year.
· Orders for wood, window and door systems in the U.S. for the 13 week period ending January 27, 2008 were up 20 percent over the same period in the prior year.
With respect to the first item, the prior year does not include orders from acquisitions made subsequent to the end of the prior year period.
