He is penniless, homeless, illiterate, and, for all practical purposes, without faith. Joshua Saul's life begins its ascend toward spiritual fulfillment on Golgotha - literally. While resting against an old crucifixion log after burying his mother, he finds embedded in the ground an old nail. Strangely soothed by the nail, he tucks it away in his girdle. Little does he know the profound changes this simple act will bring” “Yet, in the story's final scene, Saul stands preaching to an arena filled with scoffers of God, and in an act of divine inspiration, calls on the Holy Spirit to act so clearly that all within sight are made to believe in the power of Jesus Christ. About the Author:
Joseph N. Padilla was born in the small coal-mining town of Madrid, New Mexico where he lived till the age of 10. In 1941 he and his family relocated to Richmond, California. After graduating high school he fell in love with and married his late wife Alta of 52 years. After serving in the army overseas during the Korean War, he returned to his wife to start a family with three wonderful children. Josephs had many jobs till working and retiring as a mechanic for 25 years for the bay area rapid transit system. Joseph enjoys many artistic hobbies including oil painting, playing steel guitar, and storytelling. His first novel “Adventure The Long Walk, (Afterchrist) was a forty-year project. He was seventy-six when he finished. His second novel ”The Nail“ followed two years later. At the young age of seventy-nine, he introduces his novel ”Cecilio The Crucifer" all these books were newly republished by Proisle Publishing Service.
