Los Angeles, California – August 29, 2022 – HIG ALDAMISA LLC has announced its 5-year plan to produce several feature films jointly with a Malaysian production team with first production starting third quarter 2023. HIG ALDAMISA is a Los Angeles-based company whose entities have produced and financed more than thirty full featured films with a budget exceeding USD300 million. HIG ALDAMISA group works with top Hollywood talent, it has won forty international awards, and received eighty nominations for various awards, including two Oscar nominations.
It is an exciting journey for the Malaysia team according to award winning filmmakers Dain Syed and Nandita Solomon. Tyler Posey while shooting the film alone stated, “I enjoyed meeting the Malaysian delegation in Los Angeles. I can’t wait to go to Malaysia, hopefully in the near future.” ‘Alone’ also featured Oscar awardee Donald Sutherland and Malaysia and Asia Pacific Award Actress Maya Karin who participated in the workshop described her Hollywood experience as fast-paced, efficient, and highly professional.
Workshops and brainstorming sessions were held with Malaysia in late 2021. According to Sam Dean, these sessions incorporated cross-cultural narratives that will work as models for future cooperation, bringing Malaysian film production to new levels, while creating tourism destinations involving global celebrities. Sam Dean added that the plan includes extending its film productions into other Southeast Asia countries.
“I strongly believe in the positive impact of the film industry on the Tourism sector and support the efforts of HIG Aldamisa to place our country among international film destinations. It is the perfect channel to introduce and showcase Malaysia to the eyes of the world,” says Dato’ Zainuddin A. Wahab, Director General Tourism Malaysia, after attending the brainstorming workshop.
The recent visit by state of commerce delegate to Ministry of Finance in Malaysia last November has stressed the need to strengthen the economic relationships between the two countries through collaboration and partnership. HIG ALDAMISA and the Malaysian team are eager to contribute towards that goal.
