Diversity Pre-Passover Dinner: A Starting Step Toward Ending Slavery

The "Love is Real" movement announces future events for togetherness as a blessing for all, where people will work together on the road to a better and more cohesive world.

For unity and love to come together requires community body-hugging linkage.

In an inspiring and aspiring display of unity, people of all backgrounds, faiths, and races - Jews, Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, alongside atheists - came together in a pre-Passover dinner event in Los Angeles, California.

Under one banner of "LOVE IS REAL" (@loveisrealmovement), with geniality, closeness and kindred love, as the guiding force, the attendees stood shoulder to shoulder, unyielding and resolute to make the first committed and rock-solid steps to meet the desire of the community to be bonded in real unity and endearment for each other.

The Festival of Passover represents the Jewish people, and thus humanity, being freed from bondage in Egypt to freedom in the Land Promised by God, the land of Israel.

The pre-Passover anti-slavery dinner event was simply a monumental moment. Everyone who attended stood shoulder to shoulder with civil rights, an anti-homeless legend, and faith and community leaders.

Present, to name a few were Ted Hayes, Homelessness and Voices of Providence in the City of Angels; William "Mickey" Stevenson, Motown's first A&R man and music executive; Bishop J.C. Mendez, founder and president of Churches for Action, a coalition of 2000 churches that mobilize on behalf of the needy and destitute, Rabbi David Baron, the founder of the largest entertainment and arts industry synagogue in Los Angeles delivered a message and so did others.

There were other Jewish and Black leaders who attended, such as Rabbi Shlomo Einhorn, director of Shpait, the Torah Institute of artificial intelligence;

Rev. Jack Wilson, Rev. Phillip Miles, Rev. James Jones and Rev. Luis Santana;

Nurnisa Kurban, Uyghur human rights activist;

Elon Gold, an American comedian, television actor, writer and producer;

Lucie Volotsky, a resilient mover and shaker, a seasoned businesswoman and active community leader;

Benito & Mary Bernal; a member of CUFI (Christians United For Israel) and 'Benito for Congress';

David Hernandez, chairman of the Los Angeles County Hispanic Republican Club, moderates a conservative political radio talk show at the studios of KRLA-AM (870) and California Republican Party Los Angeles Country Vice Chair;

Bob and Sharon Jimenez;

Soraya M Deen, attorney and founder of Muslim women speakers;

Rabbi Yehuda Goldfiner, The Khabbala Center and Henry Kellen, The Kabbalah Student and Motivational speaker;

Also present were other influencers and activists who are working to make the desired changes put in front of this unique and so welcomed movement.

'Love Is Real' and 'Black and Jewish Unity' founders and some 100 people got together at this pre-Passover message vociferously carrying event.

Though Passover commemorates and tells the story of how the Israelites were set free from slavery in Egypt and were led to freedom by Moses, until all of humanity is free, none of us are really free.

The event's attendees came together to both celebrate freedom and to fight for those who do not yet have this inalienable right.

"'Love Is Real' is the forefront of shaping the language and counter arguments in the black and Jewish activism world." said an activist from @blackandjewishunity. "Our struggles are so similar, and our enemies are doing their very best to keep us divided because they know that it is the only way to divide and conquer."

"It was a 'monumental moment,'" said Maytal. "Never have I been a part of such a beautiful moment where people from all walks of life stood united for love and against hate. As an indigenous Jewish-American-Israeli woman of color my history far too often gets washed away by people who intentionally disregard what it means to be a native to my ancestral homeland. Never have I felt more accepted."

The event's common goal, through a few initiatives, was to follow a set plan on how to work together to make this world a better place.

"From Nigeria to Kibbutz Nir Oz, Israel, from Sudan to the city of Sderot, Israel, we must #letmypeoplego and expose the atrocities and modern day slavery occurring in Africa. Also expose the kidnapping of civilians, the case of Israeli civilians who were violently taken out of Israel, and are currently being used as slaves in Gaza, or being used as sex slaves," organizers said.

For the first time in history, groups of Black and Jewish religious leaders and civil rights activists are taking matters in their own hands and are establishing January 1st as a national holiday, registering the 1st as Emancipation Proclamation Day, the most crucial federal law for African Americans, aspiring to be the most significant national holiday in US history.

"It has never been celebrated," says civil rights and homeless activist Ted Hayes. On January 1, 2024, 161 years ago, President Abraham Lincoln sparked the end of 245 years of American chattel slavery. Today, we stand together as an oppressed people to say, 'love and unity will prevail.'

Furthermore, everyone in the room stood together to denounce the rapid growth of antisemitism and black racism that is spreading like wildfire and agreed to the importance of amplifying grassroots movements the likes of "Love Is Real," a positive movement that has been using all its efforts to counter misinformation and hate through social media initiatives, billboard campaigns, community Unity dinners and other actionable, good deeds, including their years of hard work with the homeless communities, including food drives and working closely with the White House to help implement real policies to make a positive difference.

The event's common goal was to arrive at a plan on how to work together to make this world a better place and end slavery, for good wherever it is still practiced.

Humanity, whether Jews, Christians and Muslims, people regardless of their skin color and/or religion are more similar and have much more commonality than they differ or are apart.

The road ahead is lengthy and full of possible obstacles; however, the 'LOVE IS REAL' group is determined to walk quickly to achieve their goals.

Once humanity comes to understand that togetherness is a blessing for all, people will march together on the road to a better and more cohesive world.
