9th Annual American Reality TV Awards – ARTAS Official Nominations

The 9th annual American Reality TV Awards (ARTAS) made its announcement last week with 21 popular and fan-favorite categories.

33 broadcast, cable and streaming networks and 83 reality production companies are represented in this year's nominations.

Leading the pack with 6 nominations each are Reality TV staples, NBC's American Ninja Warrior and FOX's Hell's

Kitchen followed by four-way, 4 nominations tie between: Food Network's Chopped, NBC's Making It, ABC's Shark Tank, as well as STARZ' newcomer, Men In Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham. TLC's 90 Day Fiancé and Dr. Pimple Popper, NBC's America's Got Talent, and HBOMax's newest series Legendary, have been granted 3 nominations each.

Regarding network nominations, ABC leads the pack with 23, NBC has 16, TLC and Food Network claim 14, Discovery/discovery+ with 12 total and HBOMax with 6. Fremantle ties the production company nominations with 14 along with last year's Best Production Company winner, Sony Pictures Television, followed closely by A. Smith & Co. Productions with 12. Sharp Entertainment, an Industrial Media Company with 8, and ITV Entertainment and Eureka Productions with 6 nominations each. Superstar talent Courteney Cox, Rihanna, Jimmy Kimmel, Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard, Melissa McCarthy, Michael Strahan, Valerie Bertinelli, Melissa Joan Hart and Elizabeth Banks are also receiving nominations for their broadcast, cable and streaming shows.

Some of the most notable winners over the awards' history have been Oscarsã host Amy Schumer for "New Show" with Food Network's Amy Schumer Learnes To Cook; CBS' Let's Make A Deal's Wayne Brady, A&E's Scientology & The Aftermath's Leah Remini, Gordon Ramsay of FOX's Hell's Kitchen & MasterChef, multi-Emmyã winner RuPaul for VH1's RuPaul's Drag Race, NBC's The Titan Games, Dwayne Johnson and the late comedy icon, Betty White, for NBC's Betty White's Off Their Rockers, have all won "Outstanding Host"; TLC's Dr. Pimple Popper, Dr. Sandra Lee, NBC's World of Dance's Jennifer Lopez and Derek Hough have all won "Reality Queen & King"; Six time Emmy-winner for HBO's Veep, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, won "Reality Crossover Talent" for Crackle's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee; Discovery's The Deadliest Catch won "Outstanding Production Crew" for 5 years and still holds the longest winning streak in any single category. Animal Planet's Pit Bulls and Parolees received the win for "Feel Good Show" four years in a row and Abby Lee Miller of Lifetime's Dance Moms who won "Best Villain" four times was defeated a few years back by a tie between Scott Disick of E!'s Keeping Up With The Kardashians and Chad Johnson of ABC's The Bachelorette franchise.

Many pioneers in the reality space have also been given special awards for their work including Celebrity Big Brother star Omarosa Manigault Newman, accepting on behalf of former President Donald Trump's The Apprentice franchise, The Hills stars Heidi & Spencer Pratt and America's Next Top Model's original judge, iconic supermodel Janice Dickinson.
Previous hosts of The American Reality TV Awards have been Michelle Visage of RuPaul's Drag Race, Matt Iseman of American Ninja Warrior, Jonathan Bennett of Cake Wars and Celebrity Big Brother, Melissa Peterman of CBS' Young Sheldon, and syndicated game show, 25 Words or Less, Rachel Reilly of Big Brother and Amazing Race, Renee Young of Total Divas and WWE Raw and Dancing With The Stars and Kenan & Kel's, Kel Mitchell.
