Hockey Finder donates $15,000 to the Sunny Yee Hockey Finder Scholarship Fund to give back to the hockey community.
Minneapolis, Minnesota Sep 12, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Hockey Finder is thrilled to announce a special donation of $15,000 to the Sunny Yee Hockey Finder Scholarship Fund to celebrate our 15th anniversary. This donation gives back to the hockey community that has supported Hockey Finder for the past 15 years.
Named after the beloved wife of Hockey Finder co-founder Derrik Dyka, the Sunny Yee Hockey Finder Scholarship Fund honors Yee's commitment to the hockey community as both a spouse to Dyka and a "hockey mom" to their boys Gavin and Griffin. Sadly, Sunny Yee lost her battle with cancer in July. Her legacy and memory will live on through the scholarship fund.
The scholarship fund is open to college students of families in the Hockey Finder community, including players from our adult, college, and high school leagues. The Erickson Merkel Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, manages all funds, with the Hockey Finder Assist Board participating in the selection process. This generous donation is Hockey Finder's way of saying thank you and fostering the next generation of players.
Hockey Finder is proud to note that not a single penny of this donation stays with Hockey Finder. Owners and employees are not involved in fund disbursement and are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.
The Sunny Yee Hockey Finder Scholarship Fund was established earlier this year, and the first four winners of a total of $4,000 in scholarships were recently notified. The recipients responded with gratitude and appreciation.
