MONROE, MI. January 3, 2005 La-Z-Boy Incorporated (NYSE, PCX: LZB) announced that Mel Martinez has resigned from its board of directors effective January 4, 2005. Patrick H. Norton, La-Z-Boys chairman said, It is bitter sweet that we are accepting Mels resignation in light of his successful election as a United States Senator representing the citizens of the State of Florida. Although Mel served on our board only a short time, his knowledge and perspectives were extremely valuable to our company. We wish Mel the best as he unselfishly continues his long history of public service.
